Non ducted air conditioning, exposed industrial pipes on an unfinished ceiling, unpolished cement floors and exposed brickwork. Sounds like the perfect setting for a high end designer store in Mumbai, right? Well, this is the scene that greets you when you enter Priyadarshini Rao store in Khar.
Interior designer Tejal Mathur has pieced together a post modern vintage lookwith traditional industrial elements such as pale brick walls, an open pipe network and suspended industrial lamps.
Complementing the neutral palette of grey, brown and white are vintage furniture pieces and a medley of striking design accents. Pieces from Ironworks, a furniture brand created by Tejal also find space in the store just like this carved mirror.
The store exudes an aura of decadence and old money. This sense of luxury is extended even to the trial rooms where elements like a vintage chair recreate the experience of a private boudoir. Every woman should feel like this space belongs to her for the time that she spends here, states Tejal.
